Granary Foodstore Chocolate Brownies
I get asked for recipes all the time but this one is by far the most requested…
You will need a 37 x 26 cm deep baking tin lined with tin foil
Ingredients:
For the Brownie
- 24oz or 680g of Butter
- 24oz or 680g of Dark Chocolate (55%)
- 8 eggs
- 24oz or 680g Caster Sugar
- 12oz or 340g of Plain Flour
For the Icing
- 16oz or 453g of dark chocolate (55%)
- 2oz or 318g of butter
Method:
- Pre-heat your oven to 190 C
- Slowly melt the chocolate & butter together in a pyrex bowl over boiling water or in the microwave
- Whisk the eggs and sugar together until the mixture is thick enough to make a figure of eight with a spoon
- Fold the chocolate & butter mixture into the egg mixture
- Fold in the sieved flour
- Pour this mixture into your lined tin
- Bake in the oven for 40 to 45 mins until set in the middle
- While the brownie is baking, make the icing by melting the chocolate and butter together in the microwave or in a pyrex bowl over boiling water – leave to cool
- When ready take the brownie out of the oven and leave to cool
- Take the cooled brownie out of the tin and carefully spread the icing over the brownie with a pallet knife
- In the granary we drizzle melted white chocolate over the finished brownie but this step is up to you!
